The 2024 Orthodox Children’s Calendar: “We Believe: A Year of the Creed” is an exploration into the Nicene Creed— something we recite ALL the time, but kids (and adults) might not actually know much about! This calendar delves into the history of the Creed, how and why it was written, the significance of different ideas it presents, and deeper meanings of various phrases. Each month features a watercolor painting of an icon that visually depicts ideas expressed in the Creed, to more fully connect with young children. As always, the information is presented in a fun, conversational style to help it be more accessible to children.
Every calendar includes:
-
An extra 2 pages for each month with a recipe and activity to inspire further learning about the icon and/or liturgical season. (52 page calendar!)
-
Bible verses that that more fully expand on the phrase of the Creed that is highlighted that month
-
Church feasts, American holidays, and highlighted fasting seasons.
-
Select saints days are featured with a small drawing of that saint, to help little ones put a “face to the name.”
-
Original art throughout, including watercolor paintings of 11 different icons.
-
Optional sticker sheet including stickers for name days, baptisms, weddings, birthdays, confession, unction, eucharist, and so much more! Kids love these!
